Basic Brief: Maintaining and developing garden areas, including beds and borders, topiary, climbers, hedges

Mrs B contacted Simon Land Gardens in March 2014 to help with ongoing maintenance of their 7 acre garden near Castle Cary, Somerset. The clients is a keen gardener and did all the lawn cutting themselves, but due to the size and complexity of the garden, required ongoing assistance.

This was an established garden when I joined with formal lawns, a mixed/herbaceous borders, vegetable area, working rhyll and general mixed borders surrounding the house. The house has a beautiful outlook over open fields.

I visit this garden on a fortnightly basis and work with the owner together on most of those visits. We have spent a lot of time during the autumn period of the first season identifying planting that would be suitable for division and propogation. We have done this with iris (both flag and bearded), as well as a good number of campanulas and veronicas
